Rig a Bamboo (Princess Pat)

Rig a Bamboo (Princess Pat)The Princess Pat  (pose like an Egyptian)
Lived in a tree.  (
pose like a tree)
She sailed across (
right arm snakes up and down from right to left)
The seven seas. (
hold up 7 fingers, then hold up your hand shaped like the letter "C")
She sailed across (
right arm snakes up and down from right to left)
The channel, too. (
both hands cut the air parallel to each other, down, then hold up 2 fingers)
And she took with her: (
throw an imaginary pack over your shoulder)
A Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
A Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
Chorus:  Now what is that? (right hand shrugs, then left hand shrugs)It’s something made (one fist on the other, then change)By the Princess Pat! (pose like an Egyptian)It’s red n’ gold (right hand and hip out)And purple, too! (left hand and hip out)That’s why it’s CALLED: (hands cupped like a megaphone)A Rig-a-bamboo! (shake your whole body going down)A Rig-a-bamboo! (shake your whole body going down)

Now Captain Jack (
salute right hand, then left hand)
Had a mighty-fine crew. (
salute upside-down right hand, then upside-down left hand)
He sailed across (
right arm snakes up and down from right to left)
The channel, too. (
both hands cut the air parallel to each other, down, then hold up 2 fingers)
But his ship sank, (
hold your nose and wiggle down)
And yours will too (
keep holding your nose, and shake your finger)
If you don’t take (
throw an imaginary pack over your shoulder)
A Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
A Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
*Chorus
The Princess Pat (pose like an Egyptian)
Saw Captain Jack. (
salute right hand, then left hand)
She reeled him in (
use your imaginary fishing rod and reel)
And brought him back (
jump-turn around)
She saved his life (
jump-turn back around while holding your hands in a prayer position)
And his crew, too, (
salute upside-down right hand, then upside-down left hand)
And do you know how? (
right hand shrugs, then left hand shrugs)
With a Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
A Rig-a-bamboo! (
shake your whole body going down)
*Chorus

Mama's Soup Surprise

MAMA'S SOUP SURPRISE
Sung to tune "Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious"
Oh, when I was a little kid I never liked to eat,
Mama’d put things on my plate
I’d dump them on her feet,
But then one day she made this soup, I ate it all in bed,
I asked her what she put in it and this is what she said.
Chorus
Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips and alligator eyes,
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs and salamander thighs,
Rabbit ears and camel rears and tasty toe-nail pies,
Stir them all together, its Mama’s Soup Surprise!

I went into the bathroom and stood beside the sink,
I said I’m feeling slightly ill, I thing I’d like a drink,
Mama said, “I’ve just the thing; I’ll get it in a wink,
It’s full of lots of protein, and vitamins I think!”
Chorus

BUBBLE GUM SONG

BUBBLE GUM SONG
My mom gave me a penny
to go and see Jack Benny
But I didn’t see Jack Benny

Chorus: (last time through “Instead I choked on bubblegum)
Instead I bought some bubble gum.
BAZOOKA, ZOOKA, BUBBLE GUM
OH YES, I BOUGHT SOME BUBBLE GUM
BAZOOKA, ZOOKA, BUBBLE GUM

My mom gave me a nickel
to go and buy a pickle
but I didn’t buy a pickle

My mom gave me a dime
to go and buy a lime
but I didn’t buy a lime

My mom gave me a quarter
to go and tip a porter
but I didn’t tip a porter

My mom gave me a dollar
to go and buy a collar
but I didn’t buy a collar

My mom gave me a five
she said to stay alive
but I didn’t stay alive

Make New Friends

Make New Friends

Make new friends,
but keep the old.
One is silver,
the other is gold.

A circle is round,
it has no end.
That's how long,
I will be your friend.

A fire burns bright,
it warms the heart.
We've been friends,
from the very start.

You have one hand,
I have the other.
Put them together,
We have each other.

Silver is precious,
Gold is too.
I am precious,
and so are you.

You help me,
and I'll help you
and together
we will see it through.

The sky is blue
The Earth is green
I can help
to keep it clean

Across the land
Across the sea
Friends forever
We will always be

Girl Scouts Together

Girl Scouts Together

Girl Scouts together, that is our song
winding the old trails, rocky and long
learning our motto, living our creed
Girl Scouts together in every good deed

Girl Scouts together, happy are we
Friendly to neighbors, far o’er the sea
Faithful to country, loyal to home
Known as true Girl Scouts wherever we roam.

Brownie Smile

I’ve got something in my pocket
it belongs across my face
I keep it very close to me
in a most convenient place

I’m sure you wouldn’t guess it
if you guessed a long long while
so I’ll take it out and put it on
it’s a great big Brownie Smile!

Note: We also substitute for Daisy, Junior, etc.

International Hello Song

International Hello Song
(to the tune of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing")

When we meet a Thai Girl Guide
We all say "Saw-A-Dee"
And when we meet a French Girl Guide,
It's "Bonjour" and "Merci"
To German girls it's "Gudentaug", Hawaiian "Aloha"
"Konnichiwa" in Japanese and "Hello" America
