Cadette

Our Troop bridged to Cadette for the 2014-2015 school year. So, I'll be adding things as I can. The "Goal" is to give you a rundown of what we do in each meeting. Our meetings are right after school from 2:40-5:30 (Yes... almost 3 hours!)

Amaze Journey:

I used this Turnkey plan from Northeastern New York and tweaked it to fit my meetings (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Z1ODpbzZtoQVBzWndoQTNwQjA/view?usp=sharing). It's FABULOUS!

Cadette Badges (GSUSA):
I have linked the ones I broke down. The others are coming soon. I'll post as soon as possible. :)

Other Patch Programs and Badges:
Why? Because Cadettes is 3 years long and we do lots of stuff and we are going to run out if we don't add in some "extra"

    1. Yes we did it. At the end, the girls cooked for all of the parents and siblings. They loved it!

    2. We did it and it was so fun! We reserved our local Grange last month. Although I did do some shopping in advance at Costco and Target to save money I waited until the day we were cooking to get produce, rolls, and a few other fresh items so the girls could do the shopping. We started by getting Pioneer Woman's Black Beans ( AMAZING!!) started so they would be ready for the girls to have for lunch along with Skillet cornbread to cover the another time period requirement. Once the beans were simmering the girls started on Biscotti from Italy. With those in the oven they were able to move on to the BBQ sauce and coleslaw and dressing for the pulled pork from another region. Once that was done they moved on to homemade Macaroni and Cheese to cover the something many people make from a box step. The girls did all of the cooking on their own and everything came out delicious. We shared all of it that night with the rest of our troop and their families at our Bridging for our Brownies and Juniors. The Juniors actually spent part of the afternoon earning their flower badge which included having something edible. We choose Biscotti for our menu so they could be enjoyed with the tea the Juniors made for their badge. It was one of the most fun badges we have even done!

  12. Our Service Unit gathered for World Thinking Day 2015, leaders making sure each Troop had a different country. Our Steps 1 & 5 for New Cuisine was a dish from the country our Troop had, Egypt, we made Baked Feta Cheese. Our display had each girl do a different craft of Egypt, each of us had a handmade (from play clay and paint) Egyptian name cartouche, and a few postboards with Egyptian information (Even paperdolls and clothing).

    1. We have... I'll have to go back in my notes to figure out what they did... both of those are very conversation heavy and less "do", if I remember correctly.

  17. All of this information is great! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. Has anyone completed Animal Helpers? I have a lot of animal lovers who would love this badge. Apart from finding videos about guide dogs to help with step 2 & 4, does anyone have any suggestions for specific activities they've done? Thanks!
